Snorri Gunnarsson was born in Selfoss on the south coast of Iceland in 1971. He was raised in Westman Islands and Selfoss.
In 2006 he graduated from the photography department of the Reykjavik Technical College, following that he moved with his family to the west coast of Canada to study photojournalism.
After graduation he ran a photography studio in Victoria British Columbia, focusing on advertising and studio photography working for some of the biggest companies in British Columbia.
Along side that he was a freelance photojournalist for Victoria Times Colonist and Peninsula News Review as well as magazines like Boulevard, Fathers Quarterly Japan, Photolife, Photosho and Gardenwize.
In the beginning of 2010 Snorri moved back to Iceland and works for various companies, advertising agencies and PR companies along side international magazine work.
From 2013 Snorri has lead photography workshops in Iceland
In 2019 He became a teacher in photography at the Technical College of Iceland

As of 2024 Snorri is working as a freelance photographer, guide and a graphic designer.
He is available for work worldwide.
